The last time I was at this corner spot, it was called De Clieu, and the menu was a stark contrast to what it is now. A recent revamp has seen this iconic venue renamed to Gabriel, which pays homage to its previous life, Mr Gabriel De Clieu.
The fit out leaves you feeling like you’ve just stepped back in time (to the 1950’s), while the menu takes you on a journey to Europe, with some French inspired dishes.
Meals are both flavoursome, and stylish, as seen with the Belgian Waffle served with lemon curd, ricotta, blueberries, and pistachio. A harmonious fusion of flavours, which fed the soul, and nourished the body.
